The forests are intrinsically related our practices. Both the native and planted forests may participate, directly or indirectly, in the carbon market, in action such as: GHG emissions removal in forest sites, replacement of fossil fuels by wood biomass, recovery of degraded lands and forestry conservation. Forests are also well known instruments used for neutralizing carbon emissions (carbon free market).

One thing is sure, the forests, besides contributing to an ecosystem balance, also provide a very important raw material associated with a society growth: the wood. Its scarcity or abundance directly affects the development of a civilization.

Today, forest plantations can be an industrial source of energy. The wood that is planted for this purpose is used in combustion processes in boiler, returning a smaller volume of GHG emissions into the atmosphere, when compared to fossil fuels.

Reducing the emissions from deforestation and degradation (REDD) and improved forest management (IFM) are actions that can be harnessed to generate carbon credits. Thus, the management of native forests in a sustainable manner is a precept, which is always respected by Embrasca.
